Dr Katherine Turner completed her medical training at Sydney University in 2001. Prior to this she was a research scientist at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital and with the Public Health Laboratory in London.

She then worked for 2 years with the Gene Therapy Research Unit at the Westmead Children’s Hospital, before commencing her medical studies.

Originally based at Concord Hospital, Kath has also worked in a number of rural settings including Cootamundra, Broken Hill, Darwin and Alice Springs. Dr Katherine Turner returned to Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2004 to advance her interest in paediatrics, completing her Diploma of Child Health in the process.

Dr Turner’s GP training took her from the Inner West to Muswellbrook to Darlinghurst and eventually to Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2009.

She is interested in GP education as a practice visitor for registrars and an examiner for the College Fellowship examination. Kath worked in Summer Hill for over 5 years, before joining us at HHMP in 2011.

Dr Katherine Turner enjoys playing hockey and running around after her two beautiful boys.

CLINICAL INTERESTS

Dr Turner has a special interest in paediatrics and women’s health.  She is registered to provide Antenatal Shared Care at Royal North Shore Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
