A Message to Patients of Dr Andrew Bowes at Hunters Hill Medical Practice

To My Dear Patients,

January 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of my work with Hunters Hill Medical Practice (HHMP). I have decided this is an appropriate time to retire. My last consulting day will be Wednesday
31st of January 2024.

It has been a privilege to have been involved in your care over the years. A particular joy of my work has been looking after 4-5 generations of families, “from cradle to grave”. I am proud
HHMP has become a quality teaching practice, and the medical students and General Practice trainee doctors keep us all up to date and ensure our doctors maintain very high standards.

We have an excellent team at HHMP led by Dr Charbel Badr. For your future medical care, I highly recommend Dr Lilijana Gorringe who will be in my seat in room 5 when I leave. Lil is an
experienced General Practitioner whom I met through my teaching at Sydney University. She lives in Hunters Hill and her family are well known at Villa Maria school and in local sport teams.
I also recommend Dr Rachel La Black who is joining HHMP in 2024, another excellent experienced doctor who will job share in Room 5 with Dr Lil Gorringe. For those who would
prefer to see a male doctor can I suggest either Dr Chris Lam or Dr Leo Tam, both highly competent doctors.

Dr Andrew BowesI am in good health and plan, among other things, to help rural doctors by doing locums so they can have a holiday. I will also continue to be involved in medical education at both University of

Sydney and Hanoi Medical University, and I look forward to spending more time with my wife, Catherine, and my family and grandchildren.

Thank you for the support you have shown me and I wish you all the best for the future and the coming festive season.

Kind Regards,
Dr Andrew Bowes

We know that the HHMP staff and patients will miss Dr Bowes. A multi-generational family GP at the same location for 40 years is a tremendous achievement.
